The much awaited next generation iPhone is said to be waterproof in addition to the hidden antenna in a new rear case. This is informed by the largest chassis supplier of Apple, Catcher Technology in Taiwan through a research firm, says a Chinese language Commercial Times.
Catcher will continue as the biggest Apple partner in chassis manufacture for the next iPhone generation.
“Although iPhone’s shipments are expected to drop 30% sequentially in the first quarter of 2016, Catcher’s consolidated revenues from non-Apple clients, which account for about 40% of its overall sales, will continue to grow thanks to these clients’ new products for the first half of 2016, the paper noted”
The iPhone is supposed to be waterproof featuring new compound materials to hide the antenna. The astonishing progress of waterproof facility in iPhones is in accordance with the patent: “Methods for shielding electronic components from moisture”
At present, products such as iPhone 6s and 6s Plus are developed as water resistant with an internal shield pad which prevents water damage but are not waterproof.
The second feature is the hidden antenna using new compound material. It also falls in line to the patent suggested by them: “Non-Capacitive or radio Frequency-Transparent Materials with Anodized Metal. “ If this patent will be adopted by next generation iPhone, you can imagine the iPhone 6 without antenna on its rear case.
These two pieces of news closes the rumors about the next iPhone release – iPhone 7 which is to be out by second half of 2016.
